DAY 1: Alexandria / Cairo
From Alexandria travel in convoy along the desert road to Cairo. On arrival you will proceed for visiting the Giza Plateau, where the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World is found, the imposing Pyramids of Giza. During your visit to the Pyramids you will have time for unique photo opportunities of the three Pyramids from the Western Plateau. Continue down the valley where the guardian of this mortuary complex, the Mighty Sphinx, bears witness to the passage of time and man in eons of silence. Followed by a visit to a Papyrus Institute where the procedure of manufacturing the oldest paper in the world, an art discovered by the Ancient Egyptians, will be demonstrated for you.
Your next stop will be at the exotic and colorful Khan El Khalili Bazaar. A shopper’s paradise and a photographer’s dream come true where bargaining is an art and expected when you are negotiating a purchase. Gold, silver and gems, bronze and copper, the smell of exotic spices, leather goods, the aroma of brewed coffee sifting through elaborately carved wooden doors and coffee shops, the captivating sound of music and a plethora of an unbelievable display of merchandise together with a multitude of colorfully dressed crowds bring to life scenes from “A Thousand and one Arabian nights.”
You will then proceed to a leading hotel in Cairo for check in formalities and a short siesta.
At night optional tour for Nile Cruise Dinner or Sound and light show at Pyramids Area.
DAY 2: Cairo / Alexandria or Port Said
After breakfast and check-out formalities you will drive to The Famous Tahrir Square(Liberty Square ) , in which the famous Egyptian Revolution takes place , a chance to take pictures their then proceed to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities where over 120,000 objects in its 107 halls – including the treasures of Tutankhamen (King Tut) – are exhibited.
Then visit to Old part of Cairo, as Egypt was one of the first countries to embrace Christianity. We visit the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Berbara. The hanging Church, We will also visit the old Jewish Ben Ezra Synagogue
Then start your journey back to Return to the cruise ship at either Alexandria or Port Said.
Important Notes: Comfortable walking shoes recommended.The sequence of visits may vary however all tour features and inclusions will remain unchanged.
At the museum, guests must go through two (2) security checks before entering. No cameras or videos are allowed in the museum. The museum is not air conditioned but natural ventilation produces cooling breezes.There is an elevator in the museum, but at times it is not in operation.
Many vendors sell all sorts of souvenirs at the Pyramids, especially at the Western Plateau. What is being sold as papyrus at extremely cheap prices are nothing but painted banana leaves. Guests must be aware of great bargains at great prices! Please consult and seek the advice of your tour guide if you are not sure.
