Your first highlight is a visit to the Mohamed Ali Mosque at the Citadel of Saladin, two famous landmarks in Cairo. Admire the exquisite interiors of the Mosque and view the fascinating skyline of Old Cairo from the top of the hill.
Next , The ancient Greeks considered the Great Pyramid to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Marvel at the sheer magnitude of the Great Pyramid – estimated to contain 2.5 million tons of stone. After viewing the 3 pyramids from the Western Plateau, you’ll be driven to the complex itself. You’ll also view the inscrutable Sphinx with the body of a lion and face of a man.
A short stop will be made at a Papyrus Institute, where the art of paper making from reeds, will be demonstrated for you.
Note: Comfortable walking shoes, hat and sunscreen are recommended. Conservative attire (no tank tops or shorts) that covers both the shoulders and knees is suggested for this tour. Camera and video have no fees. Shoes must be removed before entering the mosque at the citadel. Time permitting the drive to/from Cairo is approximately 2.5 hours each way, dependent upon traffic and local conditions.. Tour order may vary between groups but all mentioned sites will be covered.
